Couple of suggestions. First, each line seems to start with "|"?

The closer these messages are to email the less
cluttered they
are (and thus easier to skim through). See below:

expect that you get one for each forum posting.

^^^ hopefully the subject line already answered
this. There's an unsubscribe link below so I'd at
least hopefully people how to get out from there as well.

I'll guess the app won't support putting the
Title actually in the subject line? Shame.

^^^ the spacing here is odd. I would expect there
to be a line break between the link and the
direct unsubscribe link, and no space between the
"Direct unsubscribe link" and the link itself.

Improvements to email alerts

Thanks for pointing this out. I agree that the format of these outbound alerts is really rough and needs some attention. I've been suffiently preoccupied with getting stuff working that I haven't had time to make it nice yet.

Modified forum2mail subject line?

Looks like the topic/title is in the subject line, it's just obscured by the length I normally view
[Windmasters Hill] content type subscription for corwyn: Bowl with Sgraffito Man-Headed Leopard
I would suggest both removing "content type subscription for corwyn:"  and decreasing the length of
"[Windmasters Hill]" to something shorter ([WM Forums] maybe?) to make the subject lines more readable.
Thx.

Subject line

If you could at least get the subject line cleaned up that'd be very helpful.
Right now I get
[Windmasters' Hill] content type subscription for corwyn: Bowl,
as the subject line, which mostly defeats the purpose of forum2mail (as I can't read the subject line to see what it actually is.)

[Keep Forum] Bowl, Sgraffito, with green and yellow glaze
would be a lot more useful.

Be glad to help

If it will make things easier, I"ll be glad to work on updating the format for these if I can get some level of access and info on where to start.

Let's see how this displays.

Next try as updated forum2mail

Is this a category, or a forum?

CAtegory

Interestingly this uses the category template. Also, soft carriage returns are translated as "br" which clearly wasn't the intended result. Next try!

Yet more testing

And yet more dislike of web wysiwyg, because it's not.

Close to the final test

But only because I don't think the wysiwyg editor has the ability to edit the templates.

To edit or not to edit.

Yeah, so if you save as plain text it will format correctly, but then if you open it again in the editor it reformats everything in screwed up HTML, and you have to reformat it again. Yippiee!  But I think we're getting there ...
