
What happens with all the information I am asked for when I create an account?
First, please understand that the vast majority of information is optional and that you can provide as much or as little information as you wish. We do require an email address for initial validation and password recovery, but beyond that it’s pretty much all optional.
Second, understand that there are two types of information displayed. The first is for anonymous users, or those not logged in to the web page. We are currently adding a second set of basic contact fields which can be seen by anonymous users – this is for officers, etc. who may wish to share some contact information with the outside world. For example, if all His Excellency enters in these fields is his email address, then that is all that will show up on his Baron listing when viewed by someone who is not logged into the web page. His Excellency can choose to enter as much or as little information as he wishes, and Drupal will dynamically update his officer listing.
The second is for the screened users who are members of the barony and logged in. They can see any information you enter into your profile. This allows you to share or not share your phone number, email address, etc. and know that the information you provided is only visible to members of the barony.
