New Baronial Shield

For those who have seen me fighting at Ymir and after, you’ll note that my shield was looking a little rough around the edges.  That’s because I just painted over my old shield, which was already falling apart.  Well, now I’m happy to report that I’ve finished a brand new shield – all painted and ready to go for this weekend.

It’s two layers of quarter inch plywood laminated together, then covered in fiberglass and canvas.  Thanks to Baron Gaston for giving me some pointers on how to make wooden shield blanks, and to Sir Corby for teaching me how to strap a shield.  I’ll write up a full “how to” shortly.
