Our Baronage

The Baron and Baroness hold the lands of the Barony for the Crown, and are the Royal Presence in the Barony when the Crown cannot be there. The Baron and Baroness are also responsible for granting Baronial Awards and expanding Baronial Orders.

Current Baronage

Her Excellency, Baroness Caitrina inghean Fhearghuis

She is a middle of the 14th century Scot from Argyll and descendent from line of Fergus Mór, the king of Dál Riata. Caitrina is the only child to a widowed father, who raised her the only way he knew how, by teaching her the ways of the bow and blade, just as he would have taught a son.  After her father’s passing, Caitrina traveled, joined a group of Norse Scots, and found that their way of life suited her.

His Excellency, Thegn Ælfric Ecgeling

Thegn Ælfric Ecgeling is late 10th century Anglo Saxon Benedictine monk from the area around Durham, England.  Ælfric travelled many a mile to learn in the court of the Great Song in China.  He learned a great many things ne never knew before there and revels in any chance he gets to re-experience anything from that great land.

His Excellency

Hospitality Preferences

His Excellency has no known food allergies and is a self-described Trencherman. He will gladly partake of most victuals offered, especially adventuresome and unusual dishes. 

Food Preferences

Blackberry cobbler is his favorite mundane dessert.  He loves mushrooms, nutmeg, and mace.  He also enjoys strongly flavored things like mustard, anchovies, olives, and the like. 

Beverage Preferences

Much like food, His Excellency is open to trying new beverages, within reason.

Non-Alcoholic

His Excellency prefers to consume black, oolong, and green teas. He also enjoys iced unsweet tea and lemonade.

Alcoholic

His Excellency favors dry wines, mead, cider, and dark beers such as stouts and porters.  

Hospitality Dislikes

Food Dislikes

His excellency will not tolerate green bell pepper, or any other fiery spice: capsaicin is to be avoided. He does not care for fruits in the raisins, sultanas, black currant family.  Do not serve His Excellency internal organs, without his express request.

Drink

Non-Alcoholic

His Excellency prefers to eat his sweets, rather than drink them. 

Alcoholic

He would prefer to not be served hopped, bitter beers, which includes all India Pale Ales (IPA)s.

Her Excellency enjoys a variety of meals, snacks, and desserts such as meats, cheeses, breads, stews; She prefers foods that are hearty foods full of flavor and spice. She also likes sweets in the form of desserts like baklava, chocolates, puddings, cobblers, and pies, to name a few.

Beverage Preferences

Much like food, Her Excellency is open to trying new beverages, within reason.

Non-Alcoholic

Her Excellency prefers caffeinated coffee with cream, coke, water, and lemonade.

Alcoholic

Her Excellency favors red wines, sweet and fruity meads without honey as the dominant flavor, cider and coctails made with vodka and tequila.  

Hospitality Dislikes

Food Dislikes

She does not care for mushrooms served as their own dish, but likes them as an ingredient in recipes. Avoid presenting her Excellency with okra in any form, licorice and licorice-flavored things, oysters, and mussels.

Drink

Non-Alcoholic

Avoid serving Her Excellency tea, unless it is green tea. She does not care for any others.

Alcoholic

Her Excellency does not like beer or rum.
